Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or place submitted through a search tool passes directly to the outside provider operating that feature. The provider processes the query and supplies its results. We do not keep a separate log or copy of those search terms.
Messages and Contact Submissions
Messages sent by email may be retained long enough to answer and maintain the related correspondence. They remain within our organization unless disclosure is legally required.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our servers automatically receive basic technical information when a page loads, including:
- Page-view times and the pages visited
- Your device type and operating system
- The referring website, when one is available
- Your device's assigned IP address
- Browser type and version
- Approximate time spent on each page
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device. Along with analytics services, they help aggregate traffic patterns such as popular pages and exit points. You may block cookies through browser settings, although doing so can change how some site functions behave.
What We Do With This Data
- Diagnosing errors and other technical problems
- Routing a query to the applicable search partner
- Operating the site and improving load performance
- Measuring which resources visitors use
- Displaying advertising that may reflect user interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
We do not maintain, compile, or sell a database of personal criminal records. The site explains how Seminole County records may be requested from the Sheriff's Office, the proper court clerk, the Georgia Crime Information Center, and the Georgia Sex Offender Registry. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor data is not assembled into consumer reports or third-party criminal profiles.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the site's search boxes. Their privacy policies, retention periods, and disclosure practices apply to data entered there. We do not control those policies, so review the relevant provider's terms before running a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to the Seminole County Sheriff's Office, Georgia courts, state agencies, legal-aid organizations, or outside search services. Once you leave this site, the destination's privacy policy controls. Review it before providing personal information.
Some advertising providers may use activity across websites to select ads. Their systems, rather than ours, conduct that tracking.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. It may be disclosed to:
- Analytics providers that measure traffic and performance
- Search partners processing a query you submit
- Government or law-enforcement bodies acting under a valid legal order
- Advertising networks serving ads on the site
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable, standard safeguards protect the information we collect. No internet-connected system is completely secure, however, so we cannot guarantee that unauthorized access or a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
The site is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. If we learn that a minor supplied such information, we will delete it.
Your Data Rights
Rights may vary by residence and applicable law. In Georgia, the Georgia Fair Business Practices Act, O.C.G.A. §§10-1-390–407, governs certain unfair or deceptive consumer practices. The Georgia Open Records Act, O.C.G.A. §§50-18-70–77, concerns access to records held by public agencies, while criminal-history dissemination is separately governed by O.C.G.A. §35-3-34. Subject to applicable law, you may:
- Request deletion of your personal data
- Ask what personal information we hold about you
- Seek correction of inaccurate information
- Opt out of processing when the law provides that choice
